Multidimensional Arrays

The arrays whose elements are referenced by two or more subscripts are called multidimensional arrays. Multidimensional arrays are also known as non-linear arrays. A multidimensional array consists of two or more arrays defined by sets of array elements. The first set of array elements is considered the primary array and the second and subsequent sets of array elements are considered sub-arrays.
A multidimensional array can be useful to organize subgroups of data within an array. Let’s say that a cricket matches series have 3 matches. We can store all three matches data for all cricket players in multidimensional array.
